How to Protect against Laser Printer Toners’, Micr Toner Toxicity

All laser printer toners such as a micr toner have a small amount of toxic emissions; usually it’s not something to worry about, but, if your work involves printing very large amounts of documents daily, you might want to take some basic precautions.

Having toner on  your skin is not really dangerous, just wash it off with cold water at the first chance. The real danger comes from breathing in the toxic particles that a toner emits while printing. The heavier the printing, the more emissions – so you might want to leave the room when printing large pictures. Also, new toners are more dangerous than those already used. If you’re feeling really paranoid, wear a breathing mask during the printing process.

The highest and often overlooked risk is for the air conditioning system to get clogged on toner particles. Check it and clean it often. Keep the printing room well aired and open your windows as often as you can, and you should be safe from any hazard.
